THE HISTORY OF OUR STORE.
WHAT IS THE BLACK PRETZEL DOING IN THE STORE?
After World War 1, the grandfather of the current owner, Ernst Maier, bought the house at Johannesstr. 20, including the rear building. There, the master baker and his wife Luise opened the "Confectionery and pastry Ernst Maier". In the back house they baked and in the store of the front house the baked goods were successfully sold. The quality of the delicious, locally and hand-made baked goods was appreciated throughout the neighborhood. At that time, by the way, a pretzel cost 4 pennies.
We are pleased to continue the dedication and craftsmanship of this generation today - although in a different area. In memory of the bakery Maier and as a thank you to our wonderful landlords, family Dieterich, who always nodded at us with a smile when we asked if we could paint this and that black, we have placed the black pretzel at the entrance of our store.
"BREZLA AND BRETLE."
Pretzels and biscuits – in the 1930s you could see them in our shop window instead of clothes and leather bags. Here you can see the entire team of the Swabian confectionery "Ernst Maier".
STORE OPENING.
For four years PAL OFFNER was represented in boutiques worldwide - but not in our own home. In 2018 the time had finally come: Today you can find our studio with adjoining store in the heart of Stuttgart's west. This is where we work and look forward to your visit. Beyond the hustle and bustle of the city center, we show you our collections and advise you personally.
